Michael Hosaluk (Saskatoon) is an award-winning woodworker. Sculptor Richard Finney (Winnipeg) is known both for his large-scale public commissions and for precious hand-held objects. As prairie
artists, both are accustomed to the real and imaginary notion of containment in terms of the home or community.

Michael Hosaluk liberates the chair from its typical function by using it as a building block for larger sculptural forms. Richard Finney’s exploration of the historical forms of the urn and reliquary provides a contemporary counterpoint to our dominantly visual and youthoriented approach to the human form.
