Wanda Koop is one of Canada’s most distinguished and inventive artists. Her career spans three decades during which Koop has garnered critical acclaim for work that charts new directions for painting, pushing the boundaries of presentation and display with all-encompassing installations.
The body of work she has created is tied to an overarching critique of how modes of technology impact nature. WANDA KOOP: ON THE EDGE OF EXPERIENCE presents a selection of large-scale signature paintings ranging in date from 1983 to the present. Visitors are able to explore key elements of the artist’s inspiration through a recreation of Koop’s impressive studio environment that outlines her creative process and includes a number of her singlechannel video works.
