Disclosure Statement

At the National Arts Centre, we respect your right to privacy and we understand that users of the NAC website need to be in control of their personal information. "Personal information" includes, but is not limited to, name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and credit card information. The National Arts Centre does not sell, rent, swap or otherwise disclose any of this information.

  1. Collection of Personal Information
    Certain applications on the NAC website may require users to register or to provide personal information in order to make a commerce transaction or to subscribe to a newsletter. Such personal information is not shared or sold to third parties. If we request demographic information we will not share that information about you as an individual with any other entity.
  2. Mailing Lists
    If you provide your email address the National Arts Centre may contact you periodically with special offers, updated information and new services. Any emails sent to you by the NAC offer you the option of being removed from the electronic mailing list.

    Selected applications on our website allow visitors to subscribe to our e- newsletter by providing the NAC with their name and address. If you provide the NAC with your mailing address or telephone number, the NAC, in addition to sending you the NAC e-newsletter, may also use this information to alert you to updated information and services.
  3. Storage of Information
    Personal information is stored in our database and in hard copy files. Only authorized National Arts Centre personnel have access to this information.
  4. Use of Information
    The National Arts Centre uses personal information to improve our service to patrons and to expand our community. Primarily this includes:
    • Mailings (by post or electronic) and/or phone calls to provide information about tickets and donations
    • Mailings (by post or electronic) and/or phone calls to thank supporters and issue tax receipts
    • Mailings (by post or electronic) and/or phone calls to invite supporters to special events
    • Mailings (by post or electronic) and/or phone calls to sell subscriptions and  tickets and to solicit donations
  5. Financial Information
    The National Arts Centre will protect any personal financial information that you share with us. If you make a purchase on-line, we will use your credit card number only to process your payment and will not use it for marketing purposes. For reasons of security, we do not store credit card information on our web server. We doretain order information for our records, but this information is never shared with third parties.
  6. Links
    Our site includes links to other websites whose privacy policies we don't control. Once you leave our servers (you can check where you are by looking at the URL in the location bar on your browser), use of any information you provide is governed by the privacy policy of the operator of the site you are visiting. That policy may differ from ours. If you can't find the privacy policy of any of these sites via a link from the site's homepage, you should contact the site directly for more information. The National Arts Centre is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of suchwebsites.
  7. Cookies
    Certain applications in the NAC website invoke a standard feature found in browser software, called a "cookie." We use cookies only to track the progress of e-commerce transactions and to allow site users to move from one page to the next without having to re-enter personal order information. We do not use cookies to track user sessions, and we do not use or share information transferred through cookies with third parties for marketing or other purposes.
